Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna, Grand Duchess Maria Nikolaevna and Grand Duchess Tatiana Nikolaevna with Margaretta Eagar at the hunting lodge in Spala, 31st August - 14th September 1900.
“Various surprises had been arranged for the children. In a little orchard a tea-house had been built and about a dozen tame deer turned in, besides tame pheasants, hares, etc. These creatures would all come and eat from our hands, and the deer would follow me about everywhere, lay their pretty heads on my arm and, looking beseechingly in my face, seem to beg for notice. The Grand Duchess Tatiana named them “the pretty creatures” and by this name they were henceforth known. Outside the palings enclosing this fairyland flowed a river in which swam all manner of water-fowl which would come to be fed; so it was a regular paradise for children.
A further surprise awaited them in the shape of a little goat-carriage drawn by a pair of goats, each led by a boy in Polish costume, a long frock coat of white homespun decorated with black braid, and a high crowned black felt hat trimmed gaily with bands of black velvet ribbon, coloured paper flowers and a rosette of different coloured ribbons. The trimming was pinned on the hat!“Eagar, M. (1906) Six years at the Russian court. New York : Charles L. Bowman & co, pp.114-115.Photo from:

persuasion is so wild…imagine your ex who you’re still crazy about showing up after 8 years, practically moving into your house, calling you old and haggard (you’re 27) but then admitting that he’s also still obsessed with you and that nobody compares 2 u, especially not the pretty young thing who suffered brain trauma literally throwing herself at him…love that

Its funny how, when you have anxiety, other people’s chill is like…contagious. Like I’m always stressed out, high-strung, running around like my hair is on fire, especially at work. Then there’s my coworker who, every single day, strolls in half an hour late for her 3 hour shift. And honestly? It helps me take a breath. Its like a human embodiment of “Its not that deep” and it’s so weirdly therapeutic to have that typa energy around.
Today I had a rather terrifying experience at work that involved a tiny fire tornado in a jar and I snapchatted this very coworker about it so that she doesn’t run into the same issue and she replied “YOU STARTED A FIRE??? 😂😂😂 I’m dead” and suddenly I was cackling about this thing that all day had me really freaked out.
Anyways if you have anxiety please do yourself a favor and make sure you have at least ONE friend that’s as chill as the other side of the pillow. It will literally save your mental health.

Eleanor: Catherine, would you do me the honor of becoming my sister-in-law?
Catherine: …
Henry: Did you just propose to her for me?
